PACE
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
"Respectful, responsible, healthy and safe" are our expectations in the Cheney Public Schools. Students learn expected behaviors that are intentionally taught and positively reinforced in all areas of operation. For example, our transportation department has embraced PBIS for teaching expectations for students riding the bus to and from school. Please visit each of our school websites to learn more about the expectations their PBIS teams have developed for their school - from hallways to classrooms, we know that our kids can demonstrate appropriate behaviors at the school site. Many of our schools hold monthly celebrations for recognizing our students and tie the celebration to the PACE Character Trait of the Month.
Partners Advancing Character Education (PACE)
PACE inspires and supports exceptional character through education, community partnerships, and education. Each month features a "trait of the month" which is the focus of a multi-faceted communication, motivation, and educational program for an entire month. The PACE West Plains Chapter was introduced in 2014 as a result of collaborative efforts between Cheney Public Schools, Medical Lake School District, and the West Plains Chamber of Commerce.
