Mr. Holm's Bio

I was raised on the westside of the state and moved to the Cheney area 5 years ago to take on the amazing opportunity to become the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director for Cheney Middle School. My wife, Kaela, and I have 2 children, Declan and Piper. We have enjoyed making the Cheney area our home.

I have been involved in education since the age of 5 in some way, shape, or form. I graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in Social Sciences and from Pacific Lutheran University with a Master's degree in Education. I began my formal teaching career at Surprise Lake Middle School in the Fife School District where I taught English Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies/History to 6th and 7th graders. I was also a coach for girls basketball and 6th grade co-ed track & field, as well as advisor for chess and drama clubs.

I went back to Pacific Lutheran University to obtain my principal certification and spent the next few years providing administrative support at Surprise Lake Middle School, while teaching. My most recent position was as Dean of Students & Athletic Director for Sequoyah Middle School in the Federal Way School District. I worked with a variety of departments and initiatives including my educational passions, outdoor environmental education and student leadership.

For spare time activities, I like to spend time with my family watching movies and playing outdoors. My wife and I love the snow. I have skied for pretty much my entire life and she has been a snowboarder for quite some time as well. We look forward to the various opportunities available in the Greater Spokane Region for snow sports.
