Welcome to Mrs. Shea's Page
Library, Rm 101
I have enjoyed working in the Cheney Middle School Library since 2010. I love to read, and have a passion for books. Reading hasn’t always been easy for me though. I struggled in school, overheard a teacher say I was "slow" and discovered later I had dyslexia. My struggles have given me a real passion to help students read and find books they love in their reading level!
I graduated from Cheney High School in 1982, with honors, and married my high school sweetheart, Patrick, in 1984. We have 3 grown children and two grandchildren that keep us very busy. We also have a dog, and several cats. Aside from family time, in my spare time I enjoy: hiking, biking, knitting (lessons on request), hunting, snowboarding, church activities and reading, among other things. My home is in the country on a cattle ranch and I love my hometown of Cheney.
I am also the WorldStrides Program Leader for our school and work in conjunction with Robin Miller the Program Leader for Westwood. We organize and arrange a trip to Washington DC for 8th graders during Spring Break each year through WorldStrides, a leader in student travel for 50 years. Though this trip supports the 8th grade curriculum, this is not a school organized event. For more information go to the Washingon DC Trip Information Page.
